The Ozark Trail 100 race for 2015 was another success!
Communication for Aid Stations 10 (Pigeon Roost) and
11 (Berryman) were staffed primarily by members of the
RRARS. The following photographs document some activity
at those stations.
.
The weather was cool but comfortable with dry, sunny
conditions during the day and a little frost overnight as the
temperature dipped to around 30 deg. F.
.
There were some problems with the voice repeater, but after
no good solution was found, voice traffice was moved to
simplex on the repeater output frequency of 147.300MHz.
Packet worked well because of the placement of several
digipeaters by Mark (WA0TOP) and Brian (KD0GYL) covering
the area on 145.060MHz.
.
After a server glitch was addressed by Ron (NA0Q) remotely
from his home, packet operation was very smooth for the rest
of the race. Packet "chat" worked extremely well between
stations 10 and 11, as well as with Ron (NA0Q) in Rolla and
Net Control at Bass River Resort using the digipeaters.
